How To Beat The Heat While Still Eating Great Food

Summer is upon us and recent weather has shown us that Britain isn’t always rainy days and miserable weather. With bright sunshine and warming temperatures, many people are resorting to salads and BBQs for dinner, but this can get boring pretty fast.

There are so many different foods to eat in the summer that won’t leave you feeling full and sluggish. While a good old roast dinner is perfect most of the time, it’s just too much time, effort and good to consume on a hot day.

Just because you don’t fancy slaving away in the kitchen over a hot stove for hours in the heat doesn’t mean your food has to be boring and uninspired though. There are plenty of great foods to eat which will leave you satisfied and full without feeling overwhelmed.

Tapas is one of the best types of food to go for, whatever the weather, as there is such a huge range of options available meaning at least something will take your fancy.

There are hot dishes, cold dishes, spicy dishes, rich dishes and refreshing and light dishes. Quite literally the whole package. This is perfect for the summer as often people prefer a light, varied meal rather than a hearty and filling hot dinner.

Tapas is also easy to make, or to order at your favourite restaurant, as many ingredients and dishes can be prepared quickly and those which take longer can often be left to cook, simmer or roast without much interference, saving you from slaving at the stovetop.

You can eat your fill and keep all the leftovers for another day too, as tapas can be kept in the fridge to enjoy over and over again. Meats, cheeses and vegetables for days to come- sounds like heaven!
